Tried one last week. Like you said feels like a substantial bike – I remember the Classic and meteor 350 feeling a bit flimsy – fine if you’re nipping around town max 50mph but not what you want for longer highway rides. Definitely comparable to my Bonneville. Would love to see a 650 classic
The Benelli 502c is also a competitor to the Rebel and Super Meteor.
46.4 hp and 52.3 Nm of torque for a shorter stroked larger bore 650cc twin means that it is in a fairly low state of tune and not stressed,… Which should give a stable smooth engine for a low while…
I think BHP UK took a stock interceptor 650 and just did a remap.. THey gained more than 9% extra horses on the back wheel on the dyno.. which should at least equate to around 52 hp on the crank… So without any mods you can get a little more power out of the engine..
Ive just forked out on a new speedmaster, but beginning to wish id gone for a RE
Thanks Red Ang just watched your video on the super Meteor 650 im torn between the Bonneville T100 or the 650 Meteor ?my heart says the Bonny but my wallet says the super meteor any advice please
For me this is a exit bike. I have done it all and at 63 this bike allows my lower skill level to drive safely. I need well delivered with no scare power that can overwhelm my age and reflexes, so this ticks the box.
I have just got one an love it great fun to ride
It looks like a road in Northumberland
Great review….debating between this and a used speedmaster. I just think the RE with the touring edition will be better for a pillion cause I have heard the speedmaster for pillion are not comfortable. Also I have a speed twin and the engine heat is somewhat ridiculous….thoughts on comparing this two bikes ?
Enfields are not the Enfields of the past in terms of build and design quality.
The one important thing they have managed to keep is soul and character.
Which is something very few other makes even come close to these days.
I got rid of a Kawasaki 900 to go over to an Enfield .
Way more fun.
