The BMW R NineT is one of the most expensive retro motorcycles on the market today, with the Option 719 being even more of a premium. Is it worth the price and is it the best retro motorcycle you can buy?
With a classic BMW boxer twin engine and great heritage styling the R NineT certainly embodies the retro name. In competition with the Kawasaki Z900RS and Triumph Speed Twin, can the BMW beat both of them.

This looks fantastic, although I prefer the Urban G/S. Nice jacket. What is it, please? Ignore the new username that's been foistered on me. I'll always sign off with my real one. 1990
I think it looks like BMW tried too hard with this model. The paint job is a bit excessive for a retro and the styling is a cross between modern and cafe racer garage build.
Sorry but I'm not a fan of the looks. Still yet to ride one of the boxers.
as always lovely reviews my dear friend , its as always an euphoric experience to see your presentation, love it
You are unrecognizable with long hair gone. Keep up the good work.
Good video, but I prefer the Kawasaki Z900RS, Triumph Speed Twin and Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled retros over this BMW.
Make a smaller and lighter retro BMW R 65, nimble, and good for both the freeways and twisty back roads. Yes; dreams of lost youth.
Hey, another good video. I'm a wimp so I like bikes with wind protection. I like the 1250rs and I know its trivial but I don't like exhausts on the nearside unless there's a pair just saying๐
Thank you so much for posting this video. Professionally made, and enjoyable to watch. Gave a good insight into the NineT. I ride its big brother, the R1250R, and in the past a Suzuki GSXR750, a straight 4 engine of course. I don't think one can compare the two engines. The Suzuki one revved through the gears, and yes it delivered, whilst the BM just pulls, even in top gear. It is more like a diesel. I never take it above 4000 rpm on the road as simply one does not need to, and I do think its acceleration is even better. I think the decision is more on riding style. I find the BM is easier and more comfortable to ride than the Suzuki, though perhaps not so fun. But I like the boxer, easy to maintain, excellent fuel consumption. and its low centre of gravity does actually make the bike quite flickable on the twisties. Well that is what is what the bike is designed for. A waste on a motorway.
One of my fave bikes (Urban GS my fave version), glad you love it. Good to see you back old chap. Great haircut too dude. ๐๐ผ๐
It's worth it
