In todays video I buy the three highest rated windshield repair kits that I can find on Amazon and try them out. It just so happens that I have three cracks in my windshields and plenty of time. This video can also serve as a complete walkthrough on how to use each of these kits. Below are the links to each kit if you would like to try them out for yourself.

Swear these repairs don't last for some reason. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I have to redo it atleast twice a year. Tried like 4 or 5 different brands. All look great for a few months, but always have to do it again 🤷‍♂️

Just watched right after the window guy saw a chip on my car and i agreed to have it fixed for $50 😂

After seeing how much water was in the permatex syringe. This kit appears better for old chips. The rainex would have sealed that water in. I am thinking of using rainex resin in a syringe style kit.

Can I use a hair dryer for the outin the sun part if the temperature is just above freezing, no sun? Thanks

I probably agree with your cosmetic synopsis, but am uncertain about the 1.durability 2.strength 3. Tensility (to temperature fluctuations)
Again, as in other comments i have left today, I think a glass shield replacement should be a primary objective as the fixes should not be the "definitive care" for this item.
I'm not a safety engineer though, just a daughter of a former one.
But, You definitely saved me shopping around. I think I have looked at 4 different brands and methods today. I think I will hold on to the JB weld Clear Weld and the Permatex Sealant for other projects. I might even make some bas relief on [one of] my car, using a generic rubber stamp and the acetate barrier 😀 😀

So why didn't you get any 5 star kits?

I wonder if spraying something like carburetor cleaner or brake cleaner in the chip or crack would have cleaned out the dirt and debris better. It may have cleaned it out almost completely. Just a thought, I have a small half moon chip or crack in our windshield that I need to fix. Looks like Rain-X brand for me.

    Excellent informative video, thanks.

Hmm… wondering why on the Permatek kit at 03:23 you had such a lot of moisture building up inside the syringe over those 10 minutes of vacuuming? Cause later all that humidity only ended up being pushed back into the crack at the following step…
