When I first got out of college I had a Corrolla and it was a very efficent very reliable car but as the years past I found that efficiency wasn't everything. I wanted to drive to remote mountain trailheads to do beautiful hikes and the forest service does such a poor job of maintaining alot of these roads that I needed a more rugged vehicle. I didn't buy and SUV right away because at first the SUV's had terrible gas milage but the newer SUV's are getting good enough gas milage to make them worthwile. I also like to go snowshoeing and Camrys/Corrollas fare poorly on icy roads. The price of hotels has also gotten out of hand. In the early 2000's it wasn't hard to find $50 a night rooms now the typical hotel room is closer to $200 and I've had hotels not honor my reservation, they literally sold my room to someone who was willing to pay even more at the last minute leaving me in a pickle. With hotels being so pricey and unreliable I realized I would need to spend some nights sleeping in my car when I went on road trips and its very hard to sleep in a Camary/Corrolla. I just recently bought a Van and am in the process of converting it to a camper. The cost of housing has gotten so outrageous that I cannot afford to live within a reasonable commute of work so I will live in the Van during the workweek and come back to my house on the weekend. You kind of need a bigger tougher car in todays world which is a shame but it is a sign of how messed up our society is.
We have 2 2003's and a 2005! <3 Just changed the head gasket and put in heli coils in one that my daughter in law over heated :/ $400 and its back on the road! (Its got new tires and no check engine light! It was a no brainer to fix lol) Still has AC too! <3
My 2019 Camry has under 14k miles since we only drive about 4k per year. At that rate it will last longer than me.
I've been to Japan. it's not SUV's & crossovers taking over…. it's minivans and small K-car vans. They are everywhere. Sadly sedans used to rule the streets of Japan for decades, but are not a very common site now outside of the taxi cabs, which are slowly fading away due to vans as well. So sad.
Gender equality? The "family" picture….where am I?
Who does your graphics?
Will this make it harder to find Camry parts for older Camry's?
At my local junk yard, EVERY SINGLE TOYOTA that was in there was made in America, I have an 02 perfect little car made in Japan solid as they come!
