dealer tried that on me way bak in 1968 on a buick riviera wen i changed my spark plugs 2 " champion " did not work… actually, i complained 2 the salesman & he talked 2 service writer & bingo, my car got fixed… it back-fired wen starting up… turned out there was sumthing wrong w/the float in carb… 🤑 that was well b4 the " ACT "
