I own a (nearly) 40 year old Suzuki Samurai and wouldn't trade the old rust bucket for any of these new fiat jeep junks or the new improved Broncos or any other modern off roader. Suzuki made pretty good vehicles with solid motors (1.3L 4 cylinder with manual choke) and 5 speed manual transmissions. Starts and goes with a bump of the key even on the coldest days in spite of the dings and rust.
2:11 I had what you could call a fast idle issue with my 03 Cadillac STS, good thing I had EBC greenstuff brake pads, it wanted to go 35 mph without touching the gas pedal. There was a crack in the intake plenum, that was a 1000K tune up, once done, smoother than ever, had it 7.5 years, bought it off of a 4 year lease…it allowed me to float home from work each day, which was why I bought it, and it did supply evidence that GM's engineering is on point, not an ideal point mind you, with parts failing exactly at their designed lifespan. Lesson noted.
