I had a 2001 Ford explorer sport. It was reliable and consumer reports agreed that it was reliable. Their data for the 2002 Ford explorer showed it should be a complete dumpster fire. I got lucky on that one but it's unbelievable the company can be so inconsistent with their product quality.
If someone quotes kilometers, then they must be Canadian. If someone quotes miles, then they must be America. Big difference between kilometers and miles.100,000 kms is only is only 62,000 miles! Wish they produced the engines and vehicles of yesterday gone by, 50's, 60's and early 70's. Average MILEAGE before any major engine repair was usually about 500,000 miles! Now, owners and auto manufacturers of modern vehicles BRAG about achieving 100,000 kilometers/230,000 miles before major repairs are required. My '67 Chev Impala clocked over 850,000 MILES, with regular servicing before it experienced any significant engine repairs!! And, the bodies were full frame built, thick, solid steel TANKS! Minimal if any rust that couldn't be sanded off, primed and repainted. Yes, I am Canadian, Scotty would concur, having grown up in Buffalo, NY just across the lake about the horrendous winters and the loads of salt dumped on the roads. Yet, the rear wheel drive cars then were powerful and just plowed through the snow and ice. Snow tires were only on the rear wheels! Not so today, modern tin box vehicles will only get worse.
So true on those unreliable cars Scotty, I chuckled on the amount of C8 Corvettes they sold, nothing but problems 😎👎

My 2016 Silverado transmission went out twice while,driving at highway speeds traded in after second time. My 2007 made it to 165k miles with zero issues
