I have signed up to the 2022 Distinguished Gentlemans Ride in London, a motorbiking event for a good cause. The Distinguished Gentlemans Ride is a motorcycle event and group ride held for charity, to raise money for mens mental health and prostate cancer.
Classic and vintage motorcycle riders meet up and go for a ride out together, one rule is to dress like a gentleman and dapper! Having suffered from mental health problems myself, I want to try and raise money for mens mental health and prostate cancer.
Motorbikes have been so good for my own mental health, I feel that raising money for charity by riding my motorbike is a great way to support a good cause. The motorbiking community is so strong, if we all come together we can help each other out.

Love your enthusiasm in the vids and the angle that you take in your channel. Not just the "latest and fastest" but your personal touch to biking. And your DGR initiative is of course supported, made a little contribution. Keep it up! 🙂
Signed up for the ride, it coincides with pole day at Indy for the Indy 500 so hopefully I can do both.
Hey RedAng,
You've got a new subscriber! Great to see you being honest with how you've felt. You'd be very surprised how many blokes (myself included) are in the same boat. Ive stuggled the most in the last 2-3 years. The hardest part is admitting it to yourself. My Old man got diagnosed with severe prostate cancer in nov 2021, so the DGR hits very close to home for me. I'll be attending the ride in Bournemouth and Poole, in Dorset. Keep up the great videos!
Nice one, Gus. Will probably see you there, if not before. No need for bubbliness, just some solid company and bikes. More than enough to raise the spirits!
Great to hear you’ve signed up for the DGR, all for a good cause, I’ve signed up for the Oxford DGR ride out on the 22nd May, I’ll be visiting the bike shed again too this yr, keep smiling and enjoy the day 👍
Good job
Some bits about the DGR as it will be my eight year doing it:
1. it is NOT mandatory to sign up, BUT it helps! if you are planning to go on the ride, just for orga to have a clearer picture about the number of riders, and even to plann for Police participation or legal clearing with local authorities
2. it is NOT mandatory to give money, not even for subscribing to the ride… BUT, it is the purpose of the ride to get money to help the Movember foundation
3. there are NO rules for attire or type of motorcycle, BUT it is higly recomended to go with a oldschool/vintage bike, and DAPPER clothes… it is not mandatory, but if you don't go fully dressed or in a propper bike, you will be the outsider… prepare to be frown uppon.
4. Every local ride should have an orga behind, maybe even with a facebuk page where you can contribute with your help (try organising a parking lot for 3000 motorcycles, taking picture of them all, or even helping on the ride itself (beliveme… it's 3000+ riders but even so, there are people who get lost), and first aid/first reponse if you know the basic medical stuff it is always welcome.
5. THis is a community driven event, it has some sponsors, but usually there is not a single company pushing it… Triumph has been a part since the begining, but they are not organising it…
6. If you subscribe and manage to complete the basic tasks, you will get an entry to some pretty cool motorcycles giveaways offered by triumph.
7. if your town does not have a ride… just propose yourself to organise it… it starts only with a place to park the motorcycles, drink a few beers, and a ride through town, so regular people can see the spectacle… it is not every day that you see extremely beautifull people riding motorcycles.
8. Girls. Participate. Even if not riding a bike, you can register as pillion, or if you have a boyfriend, drag him also to the party and register him as pillion. do come. IT is a remarkable day, even if just for looking at motorcycles.
9. It is a world wide ride, and it happens on the 22 May All around the world. you can say that on the 22nd there will be dapper people riding motorcycles on the entire world. There used to be even a Himalayan ride (check for himalayan heroes motorcycle touring in India)
I really really really want to park my kawasaki W650 inside the bike shed's "office"… 😀
Great causes.. look forward to the video!
Discovering I was Aspergers in later life helped understand the different symptoms etc.. time helps in managing these type of conditions.
I would have loved to be on this ride.. unfortunately can't do May.. hopefully other rides!
Stride and Ride
Cheers Angus
Mike here, I’m loving my Gold line Speedmaster, I’ll try to do the Gentleman’s ride in San Francisco, Thanks for yet another great video
