The reservation system is now closed…yet again; the F-150 Lighting is just that popular.
And it surprises me.
Not because the Lightning isn’t worthy of the hype it’s received but rather that the pickup truck crowd is interested at all.
Let’s face it, they’re stereotypically not the most progressive group – more like “diesel or die.”
But with some numskulls paying dealer ransoms to the tune of $35,000 over sticker, there’s something about this electric pickup that has people losing their minds.
Why is that?
Because the Lightning is an honest to goodness F-Series that’s been elevated in its operation and cleverness…and price.
This is a 2022 Lightning in Iced Blue Silver (a since discontinued color) in one of the lower XLT trims with the all-important extended-range battery and a host of options totaling $85,484.
A top-of-the-line Platinum model can be spec’d to 6-figures.
At least it’s on the short list of EVs still eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit.
