Very few 4x4s on the current market can be considered old-school hardcore off-roaders. Some that pop to mind are the 70 series Land Cruiser (not sold in the U.S.), the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator, and the Toyota 4Runner This is a problem for two reasons. Firstly, just like there are people who love sports cars, there are also people who love 4x4s; not the likes of the BMW X5 or the new Range Rover or Defender. Proper 4x4s with solid axles that can be built up to drive over tough obstacles or cross continents. The second reason is the fact the miners, and the agricultural communities depend on these vehicles for their job. This means that if the world gets filled with the new versions of 4x4s, people who work in these sectors will have no vehicle to depend on.
