Meet Jeep’s first production electric car, the Avenger small SUV. It’s due on sale in Europe next year – but Australian arrivals are yet to be confirmed.

Jeep has revealed its first production electric vehicle, the 2023 Jeep Avenger, due in European showrooms next year – but plans for an Australian launch are unclear.

Jeep is yet to confirm specifications, however Autocar reports electric Avenger buyers will be able to choose from two- or all-wheel drive, with multiples of 70kW electric motors.

“This new SUV will offer impressive ground clearance, breakover and approach angles for its segment, while delivering a modern and technologically advanced interior, with plenty of space for people and cargo,” Jeep says in a media statement.

The 2023 Jeep Avenger is due to be revealed in full at the Paris motor show on 17 October 2022, ahead of first European deliveries early next year, and launches in Japan, South Korea and “other markets” to follow. An Australian launch is yet to be confirmed.

Jeep has announced plans to launch four electric vehicles in Europe by 2025, ahead of going fully electric on the Continent in 2030.

The Avenger was revealed alongside two new near-production concepts, the Recon and Wagoneer S, which preview two electric production models due in US showrooms in 2024.
