Awesome video Scotty!! Just in time too, as my 2018 Civic is nearing the 35k mile mark.
I thought the Honda CVTs had a launch gear.
I'm pretty sure that most garages will put the car on a hoist and it'll remain flat while the fluid is drained and refilled. Does jacking one side up make a difference? More fluid out, or less? More crap out, or less?
I put Valvoline Red Stuff in my 2003, I bought it used and it was acting up on hills. Three changes later, problem almost gone, and the fluid makes it snappier, I know a person is supposed to use Honda, but I find the car way more responsive on the valvoline.
Scotty, on old school/antique/classic cars; can I go to a regular neighborhood mechanic, or do I have to see mechanic who specializes in classic cars?
Ive seen jatcos cvt go far with fluid changes
does the transmission have oil specifications that you can look up of how much fluid that the transmission takes exactly instead of how much fluid comes out and goes in rule?
Hi Scotty, do you have any objective views/opinions with regard to the Mitsubishi ASX CVT transmissions
Scott is right. That said, never changed the transmission fluid of any of my cars. Had a 1996 Toyota previa with 220,000 miles. Shifted like an absolutely brand new car.
Got 2 sprinter vans well over 100k miles. Not one single issue.
There is a reason why fluid needs to be changed and it has nothing to do with how many miles one drives.
I am not a mechanic and won't pretend to be one. But there is another way to take care of a transmission that 95% of people don't know about.
Happy Labor Day!
