The production model of the Lexus LC 500 first broke cover in 2016 at the Detroit Auto Show with two options; a 5.0-liter V8 or a hybrid-mated to a V6 – dubbed the LC 500h. The LC500 was the successor to the aging SC and was Lexus’ new grand tourer. Since its release, Lexus has sold almost 10,000 units of the LC500.
I was lucky to recently get my hands on the keys to an LC 500h for a week. The example I had on test was the hybrid model. The real question I had on my mind though – was if I could take this Lexus GT car on a proper road trip with a newborn baby and the wife and actually enjoy the drive. So basically, I wanted to know if the LC500h can do more, or is it strictly a two-seater tourer? Well, Let’s find out together.
