Once upon a time, everyone thought hydrogen would be the fuel of the future. EVs were the last thing anyone expected to turn into the next big thing. For a while, bio-ethanol, or E-85, was thought to be the next substance to make the world go-’round, and synthetic fuels hadn’t been invented yet in the modern state, but it would have seemed more likely than a mass market EV. We even thought diesel would have a moment until VW ruined it for everyone. But hydrogen is having a bit of a comeback with new concepts being unveiled, and now, BMW is officially beginning production of fuel-cell powertrains.
