It would be nice if the diff was explained and how you know if your getting the right battery. (Identified factors. Never heard the term glass mat battery.
This also means don't replace a lead/acid battery with a gel cell or lithium. That would be a huge waste of money; it will not charge correctly and it will soon fail. Replacing a wet cell lead/acid battery with an AGM is a great idea. Replacing an AGM with a wet cell (traditional) lead/acid battery is ok, because you are not changing the "battery chemistry", but is going to have a shorter life than the AGM. The wet cell is going to need constant attention, to keep the plates immersed in electrolyte. Every time you pop the caps off to fill the old style battery, you are ruining any clothing you're wearing from exposure to the acid fumes.
Challenge Accepted.
I bought a ‘cheap’ Walmart battery at their car care center 4 yrs ago. Never had an issue on a 2011 Sonata. lol
Basically:
AGM works on cars that come with standard battery's but not vice-versa
Use the same group size
Get a battery with higher or the same cold cranking amps
Good jobs 👨
