In 1972, BMW unveiled the 3.0 CSL as a lighter version of the 3.0 CS (hence the L in the CSL name). Only 1,265 units were built, but none of these units were sold in the States. In 2022, BMW M celebrates its 50th anniversary, and to mark the event the company will bring the 3.0 CSL name back to the lineup.
The model has already been teased by BMW M boss, Frank van Meel, on his Instagram account, but today our spy photographers were also able to catch the future sedan out for a testing session of the streets of Munich, Germany.
