Can't wait for you to get your hands on the new Integra. Really would like to know your thoughts on that car.
You're crackin me up Scotty …
I have an '06 Acura TL, 3.2 V-6 w/6-speed manual, 93,000 mi.
Last week, I spent $3,100; new transmission seals, bearings, screen, clutch, throw-out bearing, flywheel.
Should last me another 15 years.
He said tranny hahahhaahaahaha
The wheel openings and dogleg panels on the car, as factory built, rusted out from daily driving in the salt belt. So then the owner takes it to a body shop to repair the rusted panels. Then the owner continues to drive the car in the salt belt expects the the rust repaired areas to never rust back again. Then when the rust returns the owner thinks the body shop cheated him because in his mind the body shop is supposed to have magic powers to make the rust begone and and never return no matter how much salt the car is driven thru. Now you know why the other body shop only does collision repair and refuses to fix rust buckets for customers who expect miracles.
Now here's the truth: Any rust repair that is just a reasonable patch job but isn't a full rotisserie restoration level of attention is going to rust back faster than it did originally. And even in a restoration level repair you might have to "punt" on certain areas because of the way the car was spot welded together at the factory was intended to be permanent and cannot be disassembled for access to hidden rust. Only immersion of the whole car body in acid can address this level of hidden rust.
The real way to not have this situation in the first place is for the factory to apply thick tough coatings on critical areas inside the body by hand with with suitable tools and attention to detail, and do it on the day the body was welded together while the steel was clean. This is what a restorer might do after an acid dip. But at the factory that aint gonna happen. The factory will dunk the body in piss thin primer that will hold up for the warranty period and quickly assemble and sell the car. The customer will think shooting undercoating on the belly of the car is "rustproofing". Then they think body shops are supposed do "permanent" rust repair when the car rusts in a few years.
Scotty how many jeans jackets do you have?
It’s not the Type-S though.
This really one in a million. This Acura TL models blew 99.99% of their transmissions and leaks and electrical gremlins issues.
Acura used the 4 cylinder transmission in V6 models. Brilliant genius at Honda thought of this garbage engineering.
have a gen3 mdx. runs smooth, still efficient
