Two killed as car drives through a wall and plunges from an office tower
Chinese electric car manufacturer Nio has confirmed the death of two people who were occupants of a car that fell from a third-story showroom at the company’s factory in Shanghai.
According to a report from the BBC, the car, which appears to be a Nio ET7 electric sedan, reportedly crashed through a wall and landed on the street below. The occupants, a Nio staff member and an employee of a partner business, were tragically killed.
In a statement, the company stated “Our company has collaborated with public security department to launch the investigation and analysis of the cause of the accident. Based on the analysis of the situation at the scene, we can initially confirm that this was an accident (not caused by the vehicle).”
Authorities are investigating.

The automotive arm of Nio offers a range of electric SUVs and sedans for the Chinese market. Like Tesla, the company also provides home-based power storage and battery solution.
Nio is hoping to enter the Australian market by 2025.
