Naturally electric vehicles are heavier than combustion-powered vehicles due to the added weight of the battery. Take the Taycan for example, Porsche’s electric sedan has a weight in the 2,140 – 2,350 kilo (4,717 – 5,081 pounds). If that doesn’t sound like much to you, think that a Ram 1500 pickup truck has a weight of 4,798 pounds! Porsche managed to compensate for the extra weight with more power, but the Taycan is still on the high side of the fat scale.
