The latest stage of the drip-fed Volkswagen Amarok teaser campaign focuses on the rear end, equipped with bold lettering and a V6 badge. The full reveal is due next month.
Volkswagen has published yet another teaser image of the new 2023 Volkswagen Amarok ute, ahead of its full reveal next month, and first Australian showroom arrivals early next year.
The latest teaser focuses on the Amarok’s rear end, showcasing its tailgate, embossed with large ‘AMAROK’ text, and wearing V6 and 4Motion badges – pointing to flagship models’ 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 and full-time four-wheel-drive system.
While Volkswagen says the new ute will be able to carry up to 1.2 tonnes in its tray, this figure is most likely in reference to the single-cab variants offered in overseas markets, rather than Australia’s dual-cab variants.
In line with the broader ute class, 3.5-tonne braked towing capability will be available.
Buyers overseas will be presented a choice of 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder or 3.0-litre single-turbo V6 diesel engines sourced from Ford, with rear-wheel drive, part-time four-wheel drive or full-time four-wheel drive.
Tech and style highlights will include matrix LED headlights, available 21-inch alloy wheels, standard LED tail-lights, widescreen infotainment and instrument displays, electric front seats, and a full suite of active safety technology.
Five model variants will be offered overseas: the base ‘Amarok’, mid-spec Life and Style, and two flagships: the on-road-oriented Aventura, and the off-road-focused Panamericana.
