Today on Past Gas… Jeff Gordon! How did a kid who grew up 20 miles from San Francisco take over a rugged sport which sprung from the illicit moonshine running business in the south? What made Gordon so good at such a young age? How would Jeff navigate the fever of fame? Did his popularity in the media ultimately overshadow his abilities as a race car driver?

Jeff is the only connection to nascar I have, if it wasn’t for him and his name recognition everything I know would be from the cars movie

When I was 2 years old I got to sit inside Gordon's nascar! I have the picture on my fridge!!

Not worth a whole lot, but I’d like to see these podcasts head back in the direction of the original few. It almost seems like you can hear Nolan’s frustration with every sentence bringing a random unrelated spin-off comedic comment. I used to share this with friends and family for the way it easily broke down events and timelines but anymore it’s almost like satire history. You all do a good job telling the story ultimately, I just think the tangents take more than they give.

My mom bought me a NASCAR PC video game in like 2002 ish when I was 6. It was Jeff Gordon’s official game, it was dope

I mean jeff was cool and all but ive literally heard ray evernham brag about all the cheating parts they got away with. The rainbow warriors didn't get to the top on pure talent and luck

@Donut Podcasts Since we're getting raped at the pump, how about making a
useful video, listing the best CHEAP and reliable cars that get the best
MPG. Something from maybe late 90s to late 00s
