The concept of an electrified Porsche 911 goes back at least half a decade, but things have changed a lot since then. As an example, back in 2018, we were told that adding any type of electrification to the 911 wouldn’t happen anytime soon. Of course, part of the problem with electrifying the 911 is packaging it all together without ruining everything that the 911 is.
The good news is that Porsche has managed to sort some things out and, while the 911 still won’t go full-on electric anytime soon, the hybrid 911 is coming faster than you think, and now we have some preliminary details.
