If your memory of the Ford Thunderbird only includes the 10th-generation coupe that was nearly identical to the Mercury Cougar or the failure that was the radically and retro-styled 11th-gen model, then you’ve been ripped off. See, when the Thunderbird was first launched in 1955, it was a stylish two-seat coupe that was as bold as it was interesting. It was produced in mass numbers and was even switched to a four-seat layout after 1958 before being completely redesigned in 1961. That’s where the 1962 Thunderbird that you see here comes into play. The thunderbird itself might not be rare, but this one certainly is, and I’ll explain why.
