Its been a while since Volkswagen announced it will kill the Passat in the States because it wanted to focus on SUVs and the electric vehicles. After that, the company announced the Passat sedan will be killed altogether, in all countries.

In Europe the decision was made because apparently the Passat is cannibalizing the Skoda Superb’s sales. But there is some good news for all the Passat fans out there – and let me tell you, there are a lot of them in Europe – Volkswagen will still offer a new generation Passat, but only as a station wagon. Volkswagen’s wish is for the Superb to target customers from central and eastern Europe while the Passat will aim at buyers from western Europe.
