The fault could cause a loss of power, according to the manufacturer.
The affected vehicles are stamped Model Years 2017-2019.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Under certain driving condition the vehicle fail-safe mode may be activated.
“If this occurs the EV ready lamp will flash accompanied with reduced acceleration and a loss of motive power. In addition, there is a risk of an unintended acceleration following full accelerator pedal release.
“A loss of motive power, or an unintended acceleration while driving could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
