I OWN A 2000 LINCOLN TOWNCAR AND INSURANCE COMPANY IS PAYING FOR MY REPAIRS, SHOULD I GO TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER OR TO A MECHANIC?
so i had the service center try to sell me a part sensor harness for 80 dollars , when the parts department was selling it for 53 dollars like wtf? they that hungry for 30 bucks
Take a pry bar and check the bushings the right way not just by looking at it 😉.
Dealership said they would diagnose my airbag codes and that my airbags won't work in an accident with the light being on. They diagnosed it for 12 minutes from code scan to call telling me the vehicle was done. Then sent me on my way with no real solution to the airbag light

If you have a Wired problem others can’t figure out take it to the dealer. my last mechanic couldn’t figure out a simple head gasket. Until I took it to the dealer of course.
Went to Honda for JUST an oil change today. 2014 Civic ex 61K looks almost new, treat it as if it were a McLaren. 1 hour later I get the call, my lr shock is leaking and I need my brake fluid flushed…I said when was the last time I had my brake fluid flushed he said in 2017…so its over do and there is moisture in the fluid….I said I'll leave starbucks right now be there in 4 minutes…..I arrived and said….check again…the manager came over and looked at his PC and said yes…he had his brake fluid changed in 2020……so it wont be due again until 2023……got home my shocks were dry as a bone. I WILL NEVE GO BACK TO THE DEALER AGAIN….ONLY TO BUY PARTS LIKE BRAKES THAT I DO MYSELF. THE DEALERSHIP MAKES MORE CASH ANUALLY IN SERVICE (up-sales included) Then selling cars.
I worked at a dealership I won't name for a few years, to be eligible for the lifetime oil changes you would have to follow THEIR reccomended service schedule, not the owners manual or you would lose your eligibility. Of course the sales people wouldn't explain that prior to them buying the car. Service advisors are also paid commission, that should speak for itself.
