A fault could cause the sunroof to detach while the vehicle is being driven, according to the safety recall notice.
The affected vehicles are stamped Model Year 2021.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a manufacturing issue, the sunroof frame may not have been bonded correctly to the body and could become loose and detach from the vehicle.
“If the sunroof frame detaches from the vehicle there is an increased risk of injury or death to road users.”

A spokesperson for Volkswagen Australia confirmed to Drive the recall is purely precautionary, and no instances of the fault have been recorded locally.
