The new 1969 Charger Captiv was built for New Zealand-based motorsports legend and TV personality Greg Murphy and required 4,000 build hours of custom modifications, but the result totally worth it!
The work on this project started in New Zeeland where the car was disassembled and prepared. The car was then taken to Ringbrothers who continued with extensive metalwork, including making the Charger unibody and integrating the Flowmaster exhaust system.
The car was painted in a custom BASF “Pile Up Yellow” finish and sits on custom HRE wheels sized 19” x 11” up front and 20” x 13” at the rear. The wheels are wrapped in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Ringbrothers is also offering a QA1 carbon fiber driveshaft and adjustable shocks and Baer six-piston brakes.
For the interior the seats are wrapped in a full custom upholstery by Upholstery Unlimited and the steering wheels was also specially customized by Ringbrothers.
As we mentioned, the new engine delivers a total of 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. It is now mated to a Tremec manual transmission.
Assuming the project is based on the 1969 Charger equipped with the 426 HEMI engine, the new “Captiv” project delivers almost an extra 300 horsepower!
