As an open and public development program comes to an end, the hotly-anticipated Ineos Grenadier will finally arrive in Australia in late 2022.

It’s not very often that an all-new model arrives, and a newly-minted manufacturer is even more rare. And that’s exactly what’s happening in 2022, as the Ineos Grenadier finally arrives in Australian showrooms.

Aside from boxy and square looks, the Grenadier shares a of lot mechanical inspiration with the Land Rover Defender – namely coil springs all around, live axles and a ladder chassis. It’s a setup that is still favoured by many die-hard four-wheel-drivers for its capability and durability.

The Grenadier will arrive in Australia towards the end of 2022, with a targeted starting price of $84,500 before on-road costs (two seats) and $85,500 (five seats). This will pitch it directly against the Land Rover Defender, Toyota LandCruiser, Toyota LandCruiser Prado and Toyota LandCruiser 76 Series, as well as the Nissan Patrol.
