The 08 to 14 honda crv and other Hondas with the same engine have a design defect in which a weak spring inside the vtc actuator causes a cold start rattle that causes the timing chain to stretch out at about 60k to 80k. You can only buy the whole vtc gear that starts to rattle again in a year or 2. One mechanic put in a longer spring that fixed it and another pulls the spring and hand stretches it.
