The 2021 BMW M135i xDrive has been revealed, ahead of an Australia launch in the first quarter of 2022 (January to March, inclusive).
Model year updates to BMW’s all-wheel drive hot hatch include new suspension and chassis components.
On top of new dampers and springs, BMW has introduced new suspension arms, bushes, and improved its wheel alignment, claiming the updates ensure “precisely controllable driving characteristics even when pushing hard”.
Changes go beyond mechanical enhancements, with a new interior sound generator system tuned more aggressively. The 2022 BMW M135i xDrive now roars into life, with a special start-up “sound composition” that was “specially created for the M135i xDrive”.
Further Differentiating 2022 BMW M135i xDrive models will be a selection of new colours, including options from the BMW Individual palette. New choices including ‘Paulo Yellow’ non-metallic, as well as Frozen Orange metallic matte and Frozen Pure Grey matte.
Carryover equipment include the same 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 225kW/450Nm, eight-speed automatic, and M Performance brake package.
The 2022 BMW M135i xDrive is expected to arrive locally in the first quarter of 2022 (January to March, inclusive), with pricing to be confirmed closer to the launch date.
