The all-new medium SUV will arrive in Australia during the first half of next year.
The upcoming 2022 Maserati Grecale mid-size SUV launch has been delayed, with an international debut now scheduled for early next year.
The model – which will sit under the larger Levante SUV in the brand’s range – was initially slated for reveal on 16 November, 2021.
However, the Stellantis-owned Italian manufacturer now says an ongoing industry-wide semiconductor chip shortage has “caused interruptions in the supply chains for the key components necessary to complete the … process,” resulting in the delayed unveiling.
A spokesperson for Maserati’s Australian importer Ateco told Drive: “Dates are yet to be finalised; however, the new model will likely arrive in local showrooms during the first half of next year.”
Engine options are yet to be announced, however an entry-level 2.0-litre mild-hybrid turbocharged petrol four-cylinder is expected, with range-topping Trofeo models rumoured to be powered by the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 from the related Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, or a detuned version of the MC20 supercar’s 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6.
