I really like Kia
Both these brands benefit immensely from being in South Korea, which became a juggernaut sometime after the Japanese recession that occurred around 1990 that had a decades long impact on Japan, forcing them to tighten their belts to make do with less. In the meantime, South Korea has been rising and living in fat city. They have a tremendous amount of resources and it shows. A contractor of mine has a 2012 Optima Hybrid with all the bells and whistles. He told me the electric motor broke and after that the engine "blew up". I test drove a Sonata a few years ago and what impressed me was the cabin isolation. It was quieter than the similar year Camry and much more isolated. The downside was the powertrain. Compared to the Camry, it was a dud. Hyundai and Kia especially have more attractive designs IMO, but the quality and reliability is below the best, Toyota and Honda.
Another point to consider if you don’t have a local dealer [honest] if something goes wrong now or later your car will have to be flat bedded but if you can locate Scotty here he can fix it and not screw you over. What a dishonest dealer will do is up sell you on crap the car doesn’t need. And sucker born every minute falls for it they take your car/truck do they even do any of the work they sold you on ? One bmw owner got suckered charged or billed for oil changes that were never performed. A very very expensive car with old oil. Best thing to do look 👀 at the oil after you get home pull the dip stick and look at the air filter is it new. Mark your tires or install a hidden camera. Know your car/truck at what mileage does it need something or not. Mark your oil filter with a date.
Ok here's that guy again hijacking Scotty's channel and saying how good Hyundai and Kia cars are .. We all know he hates them as piles of junk
👍
What about the diesel variants?
I have a 2014 Kia Optima hybrid. Just cracked 90k miles. Great car. But I will be turning it in for a Kia K5 or a Stinger.
The new kia k5 and the revamped stinger takes the cake with sports sedans and the kia sound is a good compact, they so have decent suv with the shortage and more family cars with the brand new carnival and telluride. The sorento is a solid pick as well, plus the God tier warranty
I know what Hyundai and Kia have in common: They're both 💩
