    ABOUT DIESEL ENGINES… imagine that most of cars in traffic around you are diesels and majority of those with removed anti-pollution systems. NOT VERY FUNNY? You could actually see them poisoning you. Europe is full of old diesels.

    I've never understood people who'll buy a hybrid car exclusively for the good gas mileage instead of buying a diesel engine car that gets just as good or better gas mileage and will be cheaper to work on if something bad goes wrong.

    hope u got a good package. wouldnt the maintain of the diesel cost? i recall u saying that about diesel trucks costs to manage them.

    think VW are just made better in Europe – I had a 2006 Passat that gave me 237,000 miles over 13 years, and I only ever had wear and tear problems.

    I had years ago a new 2000 VW Jetta TDI Diesel that had a little over 63,000 miles on it when I traded it in for a 2007 VW Jetta. The TDI Jetta that I had was an automatic transmission. It was awesome on fuel economy and the Turbo power was awesome. I miss that VW. I am now on my 8th VW, which is a 2021 VW Jetta.

    One big problem with the newer TDI Engines is that the emissions control systems on them tend to have problems once they have a lot of miles on them and it's a really expensive repair.
