I have a 99 Mercury sable with a torque converter issue w. 1744 code. If you drove it, you wouldn’t know anything was wrong but I know. 10k later, it’s still running great and getting up to 30 mpg! . Now has 105k

New and used trucks cost a FORTUNE, 3 grand for a new tranny? Be like a new truck at that point.

Hey Scotty! I have a 2008 PT Cruiser with 110k miles that I'm trying to keep alive. It's making sloshing and trickling noises coming from behind the front dash, but the noises come and go. It's also whining sometimes when I put the car in reverse and sometimes just when I accelerate. It was doing this until it overheated and the A/C wasn't blowing cold anymore. I took it to my mechanic who said there was no leak in the coolant system but flushed it out and burped it. The noises came back slowly and one time the heat gauge went up quickly but came back down. Any idea what's going on? I know PT Cruisers are crap, but I'm hoping to get another year or two out of this one so I don't have to buy a car when prices are surging. Thank you so much for your insights and content!

The Ford service cannot find anything wrong and then they'll bring in a sales manager to offer him a deal to trade it in for a new one. That is how they get sales.

6:08 that's not true. sealed rust is passivized rust and won't continue. So better to have oil on rusty surface (it will stay on longer) than oil on smooth surface. Painting it can be worse because the stones will chip off the paint and the rust will crawl under the paint doing even more damage.
