The Pick of the Day is a 1967 Dodge D100 Sweptline pickup truck that has been redone inside and out and is being advertised on ClassicCars.com by a dealership in Atlanta, Georgia.
The truck rolled out of Dodge’s Warren, Michigan, assembly plant with a 225cid slant-6 engine and Torqueflite 727 automatic transmission.
That engine was replaced with a Mopar 440 V8 that recently was serviced with its heads machined and rebuilt, and equipped as well with a new timing chain, distributor and Edelbrock carburetor, plus a new starter, alternator and spark plugs.
In addition, the transmission got a new torque converter.
“The 440 sounds magnificent on startup,” the dealer reports, adding that the truck recently traveled from Jacksonville, Florida, to Atlanta. “It idles, accelerates, and shifts smoothly, and stops well considering it has four-wheel manual drum brakes.”
The truck is finished in two-tone Omaha orange and black and rides on 5-lug Mustang wheels.
“The body and glass show well with no major dings or cracks (although there is patina throughout),” the dealer reports. “Most remarkable is the condition of the bed which is straight and dent-free.”
“Dodge enthusiasts will recognize the ‘Fratzog’ badges on the sides of the cab and the steering wheel,” the dealer adds. “This little-known badge is emblematic of Dodges of this era, and it’s nice to see that this truck hasn’t lost them over the years.”
The truck has “newer” bucket seats while retaining the original headliner and hardwood dash pad. Additional upgrades to the interior include a Pioneer radio with remote, a center console, tachometer, coolant temp, oil pressure, and voltage gauges, an aftermarket horn, and a custom gear shift and door lock pins.
“Clearly, this truck has been loved over the years,” the dealer notes. “If you’ve been looking for a streetable hotrod pickup, this one is surely worth your consideration.”
