Heritage Customs has chosen the 2021 Defender 110 P400e for this project. The all-black SUV rides on 22-inch diamond-cut Space Cowboy wheels. Even the bumpers and the side cladding are painted in Santorini Black. The spare wheel that’s mounted on the tailgate is also the same as the other wheels.

Things are the same inside the cabin as well. The aftermarket company has painted the dash, door handles, lower speaker covers, and other such elements in the same black shade as the exterior.

To break the monotony, the seats come with white contrast stitching. Heritage Customs logo can be found on the headrests, but it isn’t embroidered; it’s laser engraved.

The SUV is powered by the P400e engine. Heritage Customs has not fiddled around with the mill, which means it’s as stock as it can get. This is a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder mill with mild-hybrid technology. It puts out 395 horses at 5,500 rpm and 406 pound-feet of oomph between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm. Power is routed to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system. It propels to 60 mph from a standstill in 5.8 seconds has a top speed of 119 mph.

Land Rover also introduced a 518-horsepower V-8 engine for the Defender earlier this year. It seems to be like a last hoorah before V-8s fade away into oblivion. Earlier this month we also heard that the company will source a V-8 from BMW for the Defender SVR that will make more than 600 horses! Good times ahead for V-8 fans.

The mild-hybrid technology makes use of a 48-volt lithium-ion battery, 48 Volts/12 Volts DC-to-DC converter, medium voltage junction box, belt-driven integrated starter generator, and a 48 Volts electric supercharger. It recuperates when the car is decelerating and boosts the SUV’s performance. As for the fuel economy, the Defender with engine delivers 17 miles in the city, 22 on the highway, and 19 miles combined for every gallon of fuel consumed.

Since this is a bespoke build for a client, the same model isn’t available for sale. However, the company has an all-black Valiance kit listed on its site that is priced at €20,950. This is roughly $24,480 as per the exchange rates at the time of penning this article.
