Never owned a Jeep. However, I like that among the SUVs they have consistently maintained a good appearance. I know it is shallow of me but if I get the money I will be tempted to buy one. They are quite popular here in Southern Africa. So is Ford.
Chinese quality is just about does it look good not so much does it function properly or how long it will last. Now when they copy stuff they are so good a copying things they even copy the known defects. Get use to it because even the Japanese have joined the band wagon on producing stuff in China. There was a time when made in Japan was a joke or Hong Kong or Taiwan the came Korea and now China and some other countries. Its all about saving manufacturing costs and just when someone starts making good products the labor costs goes up and then manufacturing moves to another country. China is just where things are manufactured today but do not be surprised just as they really get good that you start seeing stuff manufactured in Ethiopia. Its all about cheap labor and how much you can pollute without being held accountable. Get use to it the jobs are not coming back because its the will of Wall Street and the bottom line.

I own a 78 J10, a 87 Grandwagoneer, and a 95 Grand Cherokee. Love them, trust them, drive them, If you gave me a new Jeep I'd sell it and use the money for a paint job on my 78.
