Up for auction on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is a restored 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle powered by a replacement big-block 454cid V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission that gets input from a Hurst shift lever.
“The midsize Chevelle was part of the General Motors A-body family of vehicles, evolving into a second-generation beginning in 1968 with new tapered front fenders and other body changes,” the auction house says in the car’s listing.
This 1970 example has been resprayed in a Phantom Blue Metallic and accented with dual black stripes places on the coal induction hood and trunk lid. Brightwork is found in the forms of bumpers, wheel arch moldings, SS badging and sideview mirrors.
The interior houses reupholstered black vinyl bench seats, a three-spoke aluminum steering wheel with a bowtie center and a modern Sony AM/FM/CD stereo.
The Chevelle is held up with five-spoke 14-inch mag wheels with SS-branded center caps and wrapped in 225/70 Cooper cobra Radial G/T raised-white-letter tires.
Under the hood, the powerful 454cid V8 wears a chrome-finished air cleaner and is equipped with an Edelbrock Performer 2.0 intake manifold.
The odometer shows just under 1,000 miles and true chassis mileage is unknown.
This Chevelle’s auction ends August 6 at 11:20 a.m. PDT.
