Or you could go to your nearest autozone, orileys, etc part store and have them plug there scanner up for free and see what the codes are!

If you let the mechanic knows you already know the code and that's all you want fixed – you're less likely to get ripped off.
sometimes i act stupid to see if the shop is honest, once a quick lube place recommended a transmission flush, the car was less than a year old and only had 9K miles on it…
i never went back to that shop, a year later, it mysteriously burned to the ground.
