Hub motors. I wonder if anyone can make a decent one. Put one on each wheel. Speed and potentially very good handling. But I think that Scotty is right and reliability is more important.

I've got a 2006 mdx, awd, stting just under 300k miles, and other than the ac going out and a throttle body position sensor ive never had a single issue. However the rear diff always makes a loud groaning sound when turning at low speed

Had an old old volvo..
Stopped all the time dead in the road while driving… just shut down… it was a fuel sensor gone bad that was mounted over the right rear tire… took 3 mechanics to figure it out.
