After a prolonged fight with cancer, professional driver and TV presenter, Sabine Schmitz passed away, earlier this year in March at the age of 51. Following a change.org petition, one of the corners at the famed Nürburgring has been dedicated to paying homage to the German racer. More than 10,000 people supported the proposal on the very first day, and the number of voters eventually surpassed 50,000. The plea drew a lot of attention, and suffice it to say, action was taken.
