The fuel hose may could come into contact with the engine and cause a fire, according to the manufacturer.
Renault Australia has recalled 266 examples of its Master van, citing a potential fault with a potential fire risk.
The affected vehicles were sold between 2 January 2018 and 31 December 2019 (Model Year 2018 and 2019).
The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says: “The fuel hose may come into contact with the engine. This may lead to fuel hose wear and a fuel leak.”
“If a fuel leak occurs, this may cause an engine fire, which could result in injury or death to vehicle occupants and bystanders and/or damage to property,” the notice continues.
CarAdvice has reached out to a spokesperson for Renault for comment on the fault. This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
