    I witnessed a distracted driver slamming her car into the back of one of these which was at dead stop, she was going 40 mph. The Toyota didn't have a dent on it and her car was totaled.

    Not bsd mileage for a 4wd suv, my 1969 Ford Bronco with a 302 v8 berely got 12 mpg city & not much better highway mileage. Toyota ought to bring this back with a more modern engine, their plant in San Antonio, Tx would be ideal, as they already make pickups there. 🤠

    The only complaint I ever heard on the FJ was on the sideview mirrors. But that could've been a driver issue too.

    Scotty, this has a 1GR-VE engine, technically making it a GRJ-XX, but the chassis is called the XJ-10 and this model is called the FJ Cruiser probably to draw on the historical name of the Petrol FJ-40 version. The diesels were called BJ-40 for the B engine. Confusing…yeah…
