I tried to revive a wiper blade with some odd cutting device, but ruined it, so I went for a drive in my semi-stripped 2CV to cheer myself up.

I bought a car a few weeks ago with expensive Bosch blades, they had dried out and made the most awful noise. As an experiment I cleaned the rubbers with wd40, smothered them in vaseline and left them for a few days (weather was dry) and later wiped it all off. They have now worked silently and efficiently for a couple of weeks. Surprised it worked to be honest, worth a try if your blades look ok visually.

Wow Ian , I wish that I had bought a 2CV in the late 90's or just after, They are so cool – again and then some (I listen to Just a minute) you show charming yet capable these vehicles are!

Wiper blades take a beating. I change mine every October before the winter here in the US. I get better quality ones if possible as I like to see where I am going or what pedestrian I am going to frighten.😁
