Gooding & Company scored a 97 percent sell through for its Geared Online auction held May 2-7, reaching $16.2 million from 84 of the 87 lots sold, with five cars selling above $1 million. The auction also sold 100 percent of its automobilia lots.
Leading the Gooding sale was an alloy-bodied 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 coupe that achieved a price of $3,586,000 (all results include auction fees). Following that was another Ferrari, this one an unusual garage find: a 1955 250 Europa GT in as-found condition that sold for $2,222,000.
A 1957 BMW 507 Series II sold for a strong $2.2 million, and a 1961 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL roadster hit $1,232,000.
Other notable Gooding sales include a 1968 Meyers Manx dune buggy, which reached $59,400, and a 1966 Jaguar E-Type coupe that went for a stout $235,000.
Among the selection of automobilia items, a Jaguar D-Type child’s car rang the bell at $25,625.
Gooding’s five top-selling cars, which each went for more than $1 million, were:

3. 1957 BMW 507 Series II, sold for $2.2 million
