You may not be able to drive like Dale Earnhardt Jr., but you might be able to drive a car he used to own. The Pick of the Day is a customized 1965 Chevrolet Biscayne reportedly owned by the NASCAR racing star.
According to the private seller placing the car’s advertisement on ClassicCars.com, the car was customized in 1999 and was acquired two years ago by the seller, who is asking $65,000 for the vehicle. Verification of Earnhardt’s ownership includes a title pink slip and a YouTube video of Earnhardt Jr. and Funkmaster Flex talking about the car at Earnhardt Jr.’s home.
The car was built in 1999 by Todd Nelson in Florida, was featured on the cover of Super Chevy magazine in 2000 and later was acquired by Earnhardt Jr., the seller reports.
“This 1965 Chevrolet Biscayne is finished in two-tone black over turquoise with a matching two-tone tweed and vinyl interior,” the seller says in the advertisement.
“Power comes from a 454ci big-block V8 engine mated to a 4-speed GM 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission, equipped with a shift kit. Performance upgrades include Weiand Stealth intake manifold, Holley Carburetor, Howe Racing aluminum radiator, Hooker competitor headers, and a stainless-steel exhaust system.”
The seller is in Chino Hills, California, but notes in the advertisement that the car is located in Franklin, Massachusetts, and has a Massachusetts title.
The car’s interior has power-adjustable front bucket seats in black and turquoise tweed, with custom door panels and window cranks.
“A custom fabricated center console covered in black tweed with simulated carbon-fiber trim panel is mounted between the bucket seats, housing the CD changer, a pair of cupholders, and a storage box. The upgraded stereo system features a Sony CDX-C6750 head unit in the dash, 4 interior speakers along with dual Rockford Fosgate amplifiers, and a subwoofer fitted in the fully upholstered trunk.“
