For gods sake Scotty you’ve been a mechanic for so many years and you still pour the oil the wrong way…… For a smooth and easy pour the hole should be on top, to prevent spilling caused by air inside the container.

I would also even say to replace the drain bolt every few years. I think on older Hondas (in the 90's) they told you to replace the bolt and washer/seal after every oil change. Those parts are quite cheap and probably not a bad idea to change the washer/seal every oil change, and the bolt every few years. The last thing you want is a bolt to get too rusted and snap off–then you have to tap it out to change the oil. Just replace the bolt, they're a few bucks. And the biggest mistake I see people do with the drain bolts it torque them down too much. Don't use a motorized tool to put them on. Use a socket or a torque wrench (I never used a torque wrench on the drain bolt, I just tighten them until their snug-to avoid stripping them out or breaking them off–as I've seen people do with air wrenches).
