The zero-emission two-seater will complete the 0-100km/h benchmark sprint in less than three seconds, according to MG.
The MG Cyberster electric sports car – which was unveiled as a concept earlier this month at the Shanghai motor show – will go into production for both left- and right-hand drive markets, a spokesperson for the Chinese manufacturer in Australia has confirmed to CarAdvice.
Further, the spokesperson suggested the two-seater could be offered locally: “As part of our Electric For Everyone strategy, MG Australia will now examine the Cyberster’s potential for the Australian and New Zealand markets.”
Official specifications are yet to be confirmed, however MG previously claimed the Cyberster concept would complete the 0-100km/h benchmark sprint in “less than three seconds.” A range in excess of 800km was also suggested at launch.
Don’t expect the sports car to reach production unchanged however, with modifications needed to its exterior lighting, alloy wheels, interior and more to make it road-legal. Regardless, the spirit of the original concept will likely carry over into what buyers will see in showrooms.
