Looking good, do you still have the panda and polo?

Great progress . When you were pulling sideways it was dragging the car, a piece of 4×4 timber against the tree and the wheel centre would have give you a bit more anchorage . You have persevered with it and you have got it pretty good ,now a bit of welding and it will be sorted .Well done for giving this car another chance.

Lovely Jubbly, a block of wood usually helps, it also absorbs the noise.

Ahhh, the infamous whine on K-Series rovers 😁 I think it's the ECU that does it.
Fun fact if you don't know already – these Rovers exhibit some very strange behaviour when the alternator is dieing or battery is a bit low. E.g wipers turning on and off by themselves, telephone-like alarm sounding when trying to start, boot flying open by itself on saloons when trying to start etc etc. It's pretty comical when they do it 😂
Don't be surprised if the streetwise does it after sitting around for a bit 👍

Result. It's amazing how much you can do with a sturdy tree or lamp post and some DIY tools. With practice you'll find you can produce some pretty amazing results…
